Favorite Part of the Job: The people I work with and our culture!

Biggest Challenges: Adjusting my mindset and workflow for each of the different areas that I manage. It’s taught me a lot and I’m still learning, but it keeps things fun and exciting and I’m always ready for a challenge!

Skills Needed to Do Your Job: Graphic design, people skills, time management and organization.

How well do you feel PCC prepared you for your job? I wouldn’t have this job if I hadn’t attended PCC, more specifically the graphic design program and my professors Eleanor Willard and Stacy Jarrell. They taught me everything I know about design … and, most importantly, to love what I do! I’m even more thrilled that I get to love my job and the people I work with. I met my best friend (now co-worker) Luis Vargas through PCC and another great friend (and now co-worker) Carlos Ortiz.

What advice would you give someone entering your profession? Never stop learning and sharpening your skills! Always be thorough! Do your research; always have a strong understanding of your product/service and your market!

Responsibilities: … Market our brand, products, games, people and culture – internally and externally. This is done through various channels, including print, web and our social media platform.

Biggest Challenges: One challenge I face is that I am a graphic designer and a marketer simultaneously. It’s not only about creating graphics and moving on, it’s about understanding why and designing/marketing with a purpose.

Skills Needed to Do Your Job: … Must be versatile and knowledgeable using the Adobe Creative Suite applications along with a creative and forward-thinking mentality.

How well do you feel PCC prepared you for your job? I began working here right after graduating from PCC. I believe PCC, especially Stacy Jarrell and Dr. Willard, gave me a solid foundation and skillset to accomplish this job. I recommend PCC to any student looking to continue their education. I would do it all over again!

A Little About Yourself: I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, playing sports, watching movies, and trying different types of food. I also love learning about my career field and things that I’m passionate about. I am also an ECU student, because I want to continue learning and succeeding.
